Exposition | Macbeth and Banquo lead Duncan’s army to defeat the King of Norway. Macbeth is praised by King Duncan. |
Inciting Incident | Macbeth is predicted to become thane, then king by the witches. Banquo learns he will never be king, but his son will be. |
Rising Action | Macbeth becomes Thane of Cawdor because of his bravery in war. |
Rising Action | Lady Macbeth talks Macbeth into killing King Duncan to take his crown. The two create a plan and Macbeth murders the king, despite a vision of a dagger he experiences. |
Rising Action | Macbeth becomes king, and Malcolm and Donaldbain flee to England and Ireland. |
