Freytag’s pyramid Romeo and Juliet

Exposition: •Set in Verona. •Romeo is in love with Rosaline but she doesn’t return his love. He has sworn himself to a life of chastity. •The Montagues and Capulets are still having their feud and have conflicts all the time. •The Capulets want to marry Juliet to Paris.
Inciting Moment: •Romeo sees Juliet at the Capulet house and instantly falls in love with her and forgets about Rosaline.
Dramatic Question: Will Romeo and Juliet be together in the end?
Rising Action: •The balcony scene. •Romeo and Juliet marry in secret. •Tybalt kills Mercutio and then Romeo kills Tybalt. •Romeo is banished by the Prince. •Paris will soon be married to Juliet. •Juliet decides to fake her death with a potion the Friar gave her.
Crisis Situation: •Everyone thinks Juliet is dead. Including Romeo. •He goes and gets poison from the Apothecary to kill himself.
Climax: •Romeo kills Paris outside of Juliet’s tomb. •He goes into the tomb and finds Juliet dead. •He kisses Juliet and then drinks the poison and kisses her again. •The friar enters and Juliet awakens. He urges her to leave with him but Juliet refuses and he leaves without her. •Then Juliet tries kissing Romeo’s lip to get some poison off. She then stabs herself and dies beside him.
Falling Action: •Chaos roars from the town when the news spreads. •Capulet, Lady Capulet, Montague, and the prince enter the courtyard near the tomb. •Friar Laurence tells the story•The Prince scolds the two families and says that this incident was a consequence of their feud.
Denouement: The families agree to end their feud and are full of regret in seeing what they did to their children.
