Characters in Macbeth

Duncan king of scotland, a mild-mannered king. Murdered by Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
Malcom Duncan’s oldest son, was heir to the throne of Scotland. He flees to England after Duncan is murdered. His army of English and rebel defeat and kill Macbeth. He becomes kind.
Macbeth General of the kings army; wants to become king of Scotland. He kills Duncan to become king. He is then killed by Malcom.
Banquo General of the Kings army. Macbeths closest friend. Macbeth fears that he knows of him murdering Duncan, Macbeth arranges to have him murdered. His son is Fleance.
Lady Macbeth Wife of Macbeth. She plays with Macbeth’s courage to ensure that he will murder Duncan and become king. Fear and remorse eventually causes her to go mad.
Macduff A Scottish general who suspects Macbeth of murdering Duncan. After Macbeth has Macduff’s family murdered, Macduff swears vengeance and kills Macbeth.
Donalbain Duncans youngest son; he flees to Ireland after his father is murdered.
Lennox One of Duncans nobles, he accompanies Macbeth to the dead king’s chamber and suspicious of what he sees, he becomes fearful for Scotland.
Ross Noble, cousin of Macduff. He acts as a messenger, bringing good news of Macbeths military victory and bad news about Macduffs family.
The three witches Agents of fate who prophesy that Macbeth will become king of Scotland; they also predict his fall. aka. the weird sister.
Porter The keeper of Macbeth’s castle who drunkenly imagines that he is the keeper of Hell’s gate.
Fleance Banquo’s son, who manages to escape his father’s fate.
