Who is the god of the wind? Aeolus
What favor does he do for Odysseus and his men? He hands them a bag containing all of the winds, and he stirs up a westerly wind to guide them home.
What stupid mistake do some of the men make on the ship? The men open the bag of winds, thinking Aeolus gave Odysseus gold and silver.
How do even more men die after the bag accident? They row to the land of Laestrygonians, a race of powerful giants who eat some of Odysseus’ men.
What does Circe do to some of Odysseus’s (Ulysses) men? Circe drugs them and turns them into pigs.
What instructions does Circe give Odysseus? To get back to Ithaca, they must sail to Hades, the land of the dead.
