Beatrice and Benedick say that lovers are fools, and they want nothing to do with love. Why do they say that? Beatrice and Benedick pride themselves on avoiding the traps of love. They see romantic love as “temporary insanity” and refuse to be drawn into this madness.
How does Don John see himself? Why does he want to cause trouble? Don John sees himself as the bastard brother of Don Pedro.He feels that his brother gets all the respect and money while he gets little.

In what ways is this play tagic? it is tragic in the way women are treated. Hero is maligned and slandered. Claudio and others, including Hero’s father, believe these slanders without much difficulty. Although things end “happily”, there is no resolution to the patriarchal misogyny that is implied throughout the play.
