Macbeth Scottish general and Thane of Glamis. Was told that he would become the new Thane of Cawdor and eventually King. Cousin of Duncan. Killed Macdonwald.
Lady Macbeth Manipulative and devious woman. Hungry for power and position. Wants Macbeth to kill Duncan and become King.
Three Witches Necromancers. Their predictions cause Macbeth to think evil thoughts of killing Duncan.
Banquo Macbeth’s best friend who is also a Scottish general. His sons will become King.
Duncan King of Scotland. Virtuous and benevolent ruler. Malcolm’s father. Names Malcolm The Prince of Cumberland (the next King). Feels bad about killing the Thane of Cawdor.
Captain Enters Act 1 Scene 2 bleeding. Informs Duncan of what is going on in the ending war between the Scots and the Irish.

Ross A Scottish nobleman. Came from Fife, where the Norwegian flag flies.
Donalbain Duncan’s son and Malcolm’s younger brother.
Angus A Scottish nobleman. (A____). Travels with Ross to bring Macbeth news of the war and his new title The Thane of Cawdor.

Macdonwald A vicious rebel fighter and leader of the Irish invaders. Was cut in half by Macbeth.
Thane of Cawdor Was sentenced to death by Duncan. Admitted to being a traitor and had deep repentance before his execution.
Graymalkin spirit friend or “familiar” of the witches in the form of a cat
Paddock spirit friend or “familiar” of the witches in the form of a toad

Sinel The former Thane of Glamis who died. Macbeth’s father
