What is causing Lady Macbeth’s sleepwalking? She has a lot of guilt about killing King Duncan, and it is making her go mad.
What is the relationship like between Lady Macbeth and the gentlewoman? Their relationship is kind of close, like the gentlewoman knows a lot about Macbeth because she is around her all the time, and sometimes Lady Macbeth may even vent to her.
Why does Malcolm ask each soldier to carry a tree branch? Malcom asks his soldiers to carry branches of the Birnam Wood because it can disguise their numbers and Macbeth wouldn’t know how large the army actually is.
Why does Macbeth choose to leave the castle and fight? Macbeth chooses to leave the castle and fight because it shows that he still has some noble integrity and that he want to go down with a fight.
When does Macbeth first start to realize that he has been tricked by the prophecies? He first realizes he’s been tricked when his servant, Seyton, tells him that Malcolm’s army is coming and with branches of the Birnam Wood.
What is Macbeth’s tragic flaw? Macbeth’s tragic flaw is his overwhelming desire for power and his ambition that he has to get that power.

Why has Macbeth “forgot the taste of fears?” Macbeth has forgotten the taste of fears because he has become so evil and dark that he is no longer afraid to do anything drastic or violent.
What does the candle represent to Lady Macbeth? Lady Macbeth needs the candle with her, (besides to not run into the stone walls of her castle), to ward off the darkness that surrounds her guilt-filled mind.
What does Macbeth do that shows the slightest bit of uncertainty in himself in Scene 1? He puts on his armor in the castle even though the battle is hours away.
What was Macbeth’s reaction to Lady Macbeth killing herself? What does this tell about Macbeth? He was shocked, and reacted numbly. This shows that perhaps Macbeth isn’t in the best mental state because the old Macbeth would have broken down.
What does Macbeth think that the doctor can use to heal Lady Macbeth’s mental illness? Macbeth thinks that just pure straight-up physical medicine can heal her, but the doctor can’t do anymore for her than try and calm her down and keep dangerous things away from her.
What does Macbeth say that coveys the message that Macbeth is done with living? He says that he is tired of the sun, and will at least go down fighting.
What does Malcolm curse in the last lines of the play and what does he invite his people to come watch?n He curses Macbeth and his “fiend-like” queen, and invites his people to watch him be crowned.
